Remove the protective seal and confirm all accessories are inside your box. Connect your LeDgEr* device using the original USB-C cable or Bluetooth (model-dependent). Once powered on, use the sleek navigation buttons to move through the welcome screens.
Your PIN is the front-line shield for your device. Choose a code that is easy for you to remember but impossible for others to guess. The device will ask you to confirm your choice to ensure accuracy.
This is the heart of your security system. Your LeDgEr* will display a unique list of words (12, 18, or 24 depending on the model). Write the phrase on the provided recovery sheet, keeping the spelling and order exact. Do not store photos, screenshots, or digital records of these words. Keep the sheet in a secure offline location or upgrade to a metal backup system for enhanced durability.
After launching the Ledger application, open the section for device management. Install apps for the blockchains you want to use—Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana, and many more. Each installed app allows you to create accounts and sign transactions for that network.
From the main dashboard, add accounts for your preferred crypto assets. Always confirm every address on your physical LeDgEr* device screen before receiving or sending crypto. This verification step protects you from hidden malware or copy-paste hijacking.
When receiving funds, share the address only after verifying it directly on your device. When sending funds, review every detail—network, amount, destination—on the device screen before approving. The offline signature keeps your private keys protected at all times.
